The National Center for Spinal Disorders (the branch of Buda Health Center) is the only Hospital in Hungary which deals with the diagnostics and treatment of the wide spectrum of spinal disorders..
The Center had formed from the Department of Spinal Surgery and Rehabilitation of the Orthopaedic Clinic of Semmelweis University in 1995. It had been existing as the integrated part of the Central Honvéd (Officer's) Hospital's organization, and in 2005 it had gained independency. At the moment it is operated by Buda Health Center Ltd.
The founder and current director of the Hospital is Peter Paul Varga, MD. The staff lead by him consists of general-, orthopaedic-, traumatology- and neuro surgeons, and many anaesthesiologist-intensive physicians, radiologists and other fields of specialists (urologist, gynacologist, neurologist, opthalmologist, ENT physician) who are cooperating in the full diagnostics and treatment of spinal disorders.
The activity of the Center had been known and approved abroad. Its praisers point out the complex way of thinking in the treatment of spinal disorders and those innovations of the field's philosophy which had bloomed in this Center and became the recognized method in the universal spinal surgery.
